Management Development

Even in this day and age it is remarkable how many people in supervisory and management positions lack training for the role. Some, who are naturally skilled at manipulating others, manage to do much that is required of them – occasionally with excellence, more often with mixed results. Others, less ‘people-skilled’, struggle desperately to cope

The training I provide for managers essentially falls into two broad categories....

                                                                                                     Functions of Management

These functions are universal to all managerial decision-making:-

This might seem pretty basic and it has been the stuff of management textbooks since Peter Drucker started the ‘management revolution’ in the 1950s. However, it is surprising how many people struggle with these essentials. Consequently a goodly number of them are disadvantaged from the start!

‘Functions of Management’ is a 1-day interactive course designed to provide an overview of the purposes of management. It is suitable for both in-house presentation or Chambers of Commerce-type training events. However, it can be customised to last over 2 or 3 days, enabling participants to look at certain aspects in greater depth.

                                                                                                       People Management

This course is aimed at managers who might are struggling with their interpersonal dynamics or who simply want to improve their ability to communicate with and motivate others. It includes:-

What can you do about others’ temperaments?

Using what you know to get the best out of others…!

‘People Management’, in its standard format, is a 2-day highly-interactive course suitable for both in-house presentation or Chambers of Commerce-type training events. However, to meet the client’s requirements, it can be cut down to a more sharply-focused one-day course or expanded to a 3- or even 4-day course, allowing participants to explore issues in greater depth.
