Legacy
Approaches & Perspectives

These pages present information on what I consider ‘Legacy’ approaches and perspectives - ie: as approaches and perspectives, they have been superceded by Integrated SocioPsychology. The material here is presented for historical and academic study purposes. It was originally designed for delivery to A-Level specifications.

Much of what is in the Cognitive, Evolutionary and Humanistic approaches fits with and supports the Integrated approach - but as attempts to develop independent paradigms, they never were that successful

In contrast to this Marxism and the Psychodynamic perspective were, historically, highly successful in developing into standalone schools of thought. However, as complete perspectives they inform the Integrated approach - Spiral Dynamics conceptually is very much a Psychodynamic perspective which incorporates the Marxian philosophy of conflict! - but they contribute little specific material. Correspondingly they are presented here in more detail than the other Legacy approaches.
