The Events Diary lists events - workshops, speaking engagements, conferences, etc
- being hosted by myself and/or like-minded providers in a format something like
the ‘classifieds’ you find in newspapers.
The list is fully searchable by key words - eg: London or Spiral Dynamics. Events
from anywhere in the world may be posted here; so it’s important to specify location
- eg: Belfast - as well as the type of event you are looking for. The alternative
to searching for specifics is, of course, just general browsing through the Events
Diary pages. After all, you never know what you will find that might pique your interest!
Events from anywhere in the world
Simply click the newspaper symbol to go the Events Diary.
This is a Bravenet-hosted service which means there are some advertisements which
appear on the listings page. (However, the ads mean that I and Bravenet can offer
this service to you for free. There may also be ads which appear in pop-ups. If you
find these irritating, please turn on your browser’s pop-up blocker. (That should
stop ‘em!)
Feedback on this service is always welcome. Please use the form on the Contact page
or that page’s ‘e-mail bat’.
However, please note that I provide no warranty as to the quality of service offered
via the Events Diary other than for my own self-hosted programmes. Nor is any such
warranty implied. Unless the event is offered directly by myself, all such queries
should be addressed directly to the provider.
...for Event Providers
If the concerns of your event - from the theoretical (Spiral Dynamics, NLP, Psychology,
Sociology, Philosophy, etc, etc) to business to community to regeneration to education,
etc, etc - fall anywhere remotely within the scope of what I call Integrated SocioPsychology,
then you are cordially invited to place ‘classifieds’ in the Events Diary. This is
a completely FREE service. Why do I offer it for free...? Partly:-
- Because I want to show that a number of us in are moving roughly in the same direction,
with all the implications that has for the cohesiveness and presentation of the behavioural
sciences
- Because the more this place is known as a repository of quality events, then the
more people will come here looking for courses, etc - which means you win (extremely
cheap advertising), I win (increased traffic) and the punter wins (choice of events
in their area).

If you are a provider and wish to advertise here, then please click the newspaper
symbol above to go the Events Diary. Then click ‘Post’ on the NavBar at the top of
the Events Diary page. This will take you to a form identical to the one to the left
of the screen.
Most of the form is pretty obvious. However, some points...
- The First and Last Names do not appear in the ad. They are purely for my benefit,
should I need to contact you.
- Title of Ad is the headline you wish to appear at the top of your classified.
- The Image Url feature is inoperative in this version of the software.
- For Website URL, enter precisely the web page you wish your ‘visitor’ to go to from
your ad here - usually this will be your web page giving the visitor more detail
and possibly offering a payment facility such as PayPal.
- The Email Address should be the one you wish to use to be contacted on by potential
clients - it is not visible (to prevent ‘harvesting’) but linked through an e-mail
symbol.
- You must enter a password in Password if you think at any stage you might wish to
edit a posting - without it, you will not be able to get past the introductory screen.
- The Ad Content is where you place the text you want to interest visitors with - the
‘copy’ - including hosting organisation, key speaker/ facilitator, location, prices,
discounts available and, perhaps most importantly, what participants will gain by
attending your event - this is where you ‘sell’ your event.
Posting your copy in a language other than English is welcomed but you must also
post an English translation of your copy in [square brackets] underneath your own
language version. (If the copy is too big to fit into the space available, then please
e-mail me the English translation.)
- By default, the length of time to Display your ‘classified ad’ will be 90 days but
this can be adjusted up or down to suit your own needs.
- You will need to enter the combination of letters and numbers in the ‘CAPTCHA’ box
to finalise your posting - it’s a pain but it is an effective means of stopping the
spam bots!
When the time period for your event has expired, please remove it from the ‘classifieds’.
(Otherwise it creates work for me in removing it!)
Please contact me if you experience any problems in posting your ad.
The Legal-ish Stuff
It is not my wish to interfere with any aspect of a provider’s posting. However,
there are certain obvious rules which need to be adhered to:-
- The content of your ad must be at least vaguely something to do with the behavioural
sciences - an ad for a course in Accountancy, for example, would not be welcome!
- Nothing pornographic must be posted
- Nothing which is overtly sexist, racist, ageist or inciting of hatred (including
religious hatred) must be posted
- Nothing defamatory or libellous of another person must be posted
In an instance of finding something unsuitable, I will e-mail the provider and ask
for the unsuitable material to be changed, with an indication of what would be acceptable.
If the provider refuses to change the ad, I will delete it. This does not preclude
the provider from placing other (suitable) ads in the future. Depending on the degree
of the unsuitable material, I reserve the right to ‘suspend’ the ad, pending contact
with the provider to place a more suitable version.
Please note that the placing of an ad here in no way implies either that I endorse
that provider or their offerings. No warranty is offered or any liability is accepted
for any offerings than those self-hosted by myself. Any ensuing contractual arrangement
between a provider and a client as a result of the client responding to the provider’s
ad on these pages is between the provider and the client and does not involve me.
I merely provide a register of events which interested parties may search.
Section 10 of my Terms of Business apply to both providers and ‘searchers’.
